Going Ons..

Well..although I feel busier than ever, it seems I have no news to share. Things have been very crazy at work, as well as trying to find a teaching job for the upcoming school year. I unfortunately will need to become a part of the system and have my fingerprints taken. I guess I need to stop my life of crime now that they can identify me.:)

Last weekend I went down to Galveston. My friend Karla and her family had rented a beach house. Although it rained 2 of the days I was there, it was incredibly relaxing and a lot of fun. I was able to read, hang out on the beach, and meet some new people.

Sorry about the lack of pitures. My camera took a spill and we are looking to get it fixed. So hopefully soon I will have some good pictures for you all.

The only other things is that I will find out my test scores this Friday. Please keep praying that I passed. :)

So until Friday...either a very happy exciting post about my test...or a slightly less happy post about my efforts to retake the test!

The test that never ended...

Seriously...I am still taking it. All of the practice tests I took were about 75 questions. I figure, I will be out in about an hour. Well....I get to the test sight, and the air conditioner is out...and I live in Texas..great combination. Fortunately the air conditioner was working in the room I tested in. So I get there at 12:45 ish, the test is supposed to start at 1:30. I didn't want to waste gas in my car and figured the school would be cool....yeah. I got to talk with a really great lady though, so I guess the heat was worth it. I finally got to start the test around 2:00. I didn't finish until 5:15. There were 180 questions and 100 of those questions were about bilingual education. They then made the smooth transition into reading instruction. By the time I hit Math and Science I was praising the Lord for a new topic! All in all, the test went well. I should hear my unofficial scores in a few days, so I will let you all know. Thanks for the prayers...even all the way from Africa! God is really good. I am just thankful that I got to take it and that it is over for now!

10 Months in Texas

Well...today is the day. I will be taking the Texas state teaching exam in a few hours. I am hoping my 10 months in Texas have given me enough of a background in all things Texas so that I can pass this test. I even hear there is a dialect portion where you have to guess whether the accent spoken is East Texas, North Texas, or an imposer accent. Very difficult to distinguish at times. The secret is that it is all in the drawl. Anyways I would appreciate any prayers you might have in you today. I will update my blog tonight to let you know how it went. Trust me I have checked the testing stub like 30 times to make sure I am signed up for the right exam.
